What’s the meaning of life?

Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lesson

I’m sure you have asked your self  this question at least once, so have I – What is the meaning of life? Who best to give an answer than someone who is walking the bridge between life and death.  Morrie Schwartz who was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) an illness of the neurological system, has answered this question by sharing life greatest lessons.

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-sleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”

Bite-sized philosophies about living:

“How we think, what we value – those you must choose yourself. You can let anyone – or any society – determine those for you.”

” You have to work at creating your own culture.”

“We don’t see what we could be. We should be looking at our potential, stretching ourselves into everything we can become.”

“Don’t let go too soon, but don’t hang on too long.”

“There is no point in keeping vengeance or stub-bornness.”

“Accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do”

“Accept the past as past, without denying it or disregarding it”

“Learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others”

“Don’t assume that it’s to late to get inlvoved.”

Ask yourself:

“Have you found someone to share your heart with?”

“Are you at peace with yourself?”

“Are you trying to be as human as you can be?”

‘Am I being the person I want to be?”
